Annotate

It's what I do to my own patterns for the fabric bins, bags & vessels I create for storage of all kinds.  What a great word. It names what we do to make things clearer and more ordered. Also in recipes. Makes it so much easier to prep & assemble.

I discovered I needed to make notes in order to recreate what worked for each vessel, as well as how much fabric to cut for the body, handles, & any other pieces.

So many places to display notes in my studio space. Keeping it all organized is a challenge.

It's been awhile & my blogging has really fallen off.  I'm adding it to the pile of obligations in my life right now. After 6 years of retirement I am filling in at my old employer for a 3 month maternity leave. We will see how this goes. I start April 1st.  Right along with the A to Z challenge.

Pegboard A to Z Challenge

I love Pegboard. One of my favorite organizational "tools".
This  section hangs directly in front of me at my studio table.
As much as I detest visual clutter I need  stuff I use all the time
within reach when I'm in creative mode.

Pegboard infinitely customizable which is what makes it the best.
I have three  seperate boards. Old picture frames work well for edges.
Screwed to the wall with gaskets that create a small space
between the wall & the board.

If an item doesn't have a hole for hanging a trusty paper hole punch is the answer.
Lots of paper tid bits are stored in envelopes. The clear envelopes were cast offs
from all the alphabet labels we used on medical charts before
everything went electronic. Recycle!

Chronically Organized

I'm always looking for ways to get my stuff in better, more efficient order. I can spend hours in the studio organizing rather than creating. But I always enjoy the exercise. I'm weird that way.  I don't think I am alone here, but it feels a bit like procrastination at times.

However, I do feel like I come up with some good ideas and I will use the ideas of others in the name of space saving, good use of available space, and having things close at hand.

Got some new cushions for the deck chairs, wasn't sure what to do about storing them as we don't have a lot of space.  Then I noticed the new cushions had a loop sewn on the back.  Rummaged around in the "man cave" and said man put the hooks we found on the wall outside. Voila! Out of the elements, stored, easy to grab, and no deck space lost.

Then I has said man build this fantastic storage unit I saw on Pinterest quite awhile ago. Already had the wire cubes to use, just a few pieces of PVC pipe & caps a couple screws & a man with a drill. I love it! In fact I keep finding more things that fit in the squares provided.
Coming up...getting ready to travel. Art supply storage, packing, deciding what to take so cooking will be tasty.
