Old Cars

Something about old cars...the design, the colors, the substantial feel.

My husband is a car nut & we go to car shows often just for fun.

I can't help taking pictures of the details.

Growing up in the Detroit area meant lots of our dad's were involved in the auto industry in one way or another. Back then the models were done in clay, the specs done by engineers on a draft board. That was my dad. A bygone era.

  1. Makes me think of my grandfathers' old 1950 Ford, Billy. He had that sun shade thing like a cap visor. He was so big inside, and smelled so nice! My father got it, then my brother. Who sold it to buy a Belgian Shepherd, without telling anyone, so other family members could buy it. I think he got $500.

  2. I LOVE old cars. Once a year, we get a display of them that takes over the centre of town in Gloucester. Each Crossroad spoke has a certain set of years, and it's incredible to see.
My partner's family also have their own old cars. My MIL has a gorgeous Figgaro, though I feel like I'm sitting in a toy car when I'm in it.

  3. When we were growing up my grandfather still had his model A. It lasted through the 1950s. When we went swimming, we could change in the car because it had stripped shades to pull down. I wish I still had a car like that for these old knees.
