Punching Holes in It

I like my tools for art stuff.

Japanese hole punch, the one with the wooden handle. These things are great for small holes in layers of paper, bookbinding, tags. Multiple size "bits".

Good 'ole paper hole punch. I use mine all the time.

Punch set for grommets.

My Olfa blade. I cut larger holes in my vessels for hand holds. Tedious but effective.

I have several awls.  Use them a lot. Not pictured.

G is for Giraffe

If I had a spirit animal it would be a giraffe. They are so unique & interesting.

I had the good fortune to travel to Africa about 2 years ago & saw them in the wild.

I took a fun online class a few years back with Deb Weiers. her Instagram is a delight.

The image above is hers, below is mine.

Wonky Critters

That's it for today...gotta go. at the age of 71 I'm back to work to fill in for a maternity leave. Call me crazy.  Helps pay for those trips like the one mentioned above.

 Foraging

I am fortunate to live in an area with lots of opportunity to find, pick, process some of our own food.

North Fox Island is one of our favorite places. Last Spring we harvested lots of        ramps there.

In the township park a few minute walk from our front door there are black mulberry trees.   Picked lots of them & ate them fresh.

Just up the road on Old Mission Peninsula there is a blueberry farm.                              we take advantage of the u-pick option and we freeze about 30 lbs. which is just about right to last until the following years crop.
