To Dye For
This topic dovetails nicely with Color from yesterday.
I have a Pinterest board with this title as I am always looking for new ways to get color on fabric.
I have dabbled in rust, eco dying, Rit Dynaflow,
My latest obsession is Cyanotype
Have never tried it but love the results.
Also been experimenting with using my gelli plate to get images onto fabric.
Finding it something I want to do more of.

Rust is a fascinating idea! I had to look up Cyanotype. A lot of results refer to that paper I remember getting in a kit. Fun stuff! I remember doing the same technique with my kids and black construction paper.
ReplyDeleteI've never worked with dye besides doing tie-die as a kid and a little leather dyeing a couple years ago, so I don't really know much about it. Very interesting! Do you make anything with the fabrics after?
