Lemons

When life gives you lemons...

Make preserved lemons!

I have wanted to do this for some time. 

Finally bought a bag of Meyer lemons & started the process.


  All it takes is Kosher salt, lemons, & time. 

Here are mine hangin' out & doin' their thing. 

All the recipes I've saved for just this event. 

Now I can play with the results in some dishes.

What's your favorite condiment, preserve, unusual ingredient?

  1. I usually just make lemonade. I have wanted to learn to do the preserving things, this might be what gets me started. :)

  2. Haws - I love haws jelly. Work intensive as ... but so worth it.

  3. My favorite preserves, etc. are not unusual. My father used to pick the hard at rocks quince off the trees at the cemetery (is was like a park, although the purpose for going was to water plants). He cooked them up with very little sugar, and called it "Quince Guggle." It wasn't very good. He liked it! I guess quince isn't unusual though.
